Closing seminar on strengthening public communication in municipalities

Within the framework of the implementation of commitment (11) of the 4th OGP National Action Plan (2021-2023) related to the support to the implementation of the Open Government Action Plans at the local level, in particular the sub-commitment related to the strengthening of public communication at the level of eight (08) municipalities, The German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GIZ) in coordination with the National Democratic Institute-NDI and the National Federation of Tunisian Municipalities and in cooperation with the E-government Unit at the Presidency of the Government, organized a closing seminar on strengthening communication in the municipalities involved in this commitment.

This seminar was held on Friday, November 11, 2022 (half a day) in Hammamet, where the results of this project were presented as the graphic charter “logos” and communication materials developed for the municipalities. These materials included the creation of new logos (  click on the names of the municipalities to see the logos )for each of the municipalities of Zriba, Dar chaabane el Fehri,  Hammam Chatt Regueb and for Souassi, the communications agency in charge of the project has traced their current logo to provide them with a source file so that they can use it for their communications media.

For the municipalities of Carthage, Zaouia Sousse and Gabes, other communication materials were developed such as banners and rollups and posts to be used on the Facebook page of these municipalities. A two-dimensional video on citizen participation was also developed for the eight municipalities involved. In the same context, a practical guide on “effective communication in the municipal institution” was presented. (link to download this guide).

Regarding the participants in this seminar, three representatives from each of the municipalities involved in the project participated in this seminar (the mayor or his representative, the coordinator of the commitment, and the communication officer).

It should be noted that the organization of this seminar is part of the Project “Initiative for Municipal Development”, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ Tunisia in partnership with the Ministry of the Interior (Local Affairs) and the National Federation of Tunisian Municipalities, to support the implementation of this commitment.
