Organizing training sessions on Open Data for several public structures

As a part of the implementation of the 2nd commitment included in the 3rd OGP action plan which consists to “Establish the legal and organizational framework to facilitate public data release”, the e-Government Unit  at the Ministry of Civil Service and Administrative Modernization and Public Policies organized in cooperation with the World Bank several training sessions around the open data. These courses have been completed within a capacity building program on open data since june 10, 2019 for the benefit of some sectors such as transport, culture, agriculture health care and industrie.

Indeed, the third session has been established from 17 to 19 June 2019. It concerned the data management and analysis, through presenting the mechanisms of data coherence and analysis; interconnection and interoperability of data; management of unified identifiers in addition to the data visualization.

Moreover, two study days have been also organized on open data for the benefit of higher officials in various ministries and public structures on 17 and 18 June 2019. The workshops aim to introduce the concept of open data and its impacts. In the same context, the Tunisian experience in the related field has been presented as well as studying the various challenges that Tunisia faces at the organizational, legal and institutional levels to create an integrated open data ecosystem.

In the same regard, a training course from 20 to 21 june on the legal framework for open data was carried out. In particular, a first presentation has been made on the Access to Information law by a representative of the Access to Information Authority, and a second intervention by the Tunisian Foundation for Copyright and Neighboring Rights on intellectual property and open data. Likewise, a third presentation has been made around the licenses for open data reuse as well as on the legal aspects included in the open data order project.

The training program has been concluded with a course on the CKAN open data management platform from 24 to 25 June 2019. In this context, participants installed the CKAN platform and added some complementary modules and technical supplies aiming at the management of some functions offered by this platform.
