Organizing two training sessions on open data and data publication

Within the framework of the 3rd OGP action plan and pricisely as part of the second commitment implementation which focuses on the legal and regulatory framework to facilitate the public data release, the e-Government unit at the Ministry of Civil Service and Administrative Modernization and Public Policies organized in cooperation with the World Bank two training sessions around the open data .

Indeed, the first session has benn held from 10 to 11  June and was dedicated for the open data focal points at the different beneficiearies. During this training module, several general aspects related to the open data have been discussed such as : the open data concept, impacts and benefits generated due the relaease of the public data in addition to open data principles and myths. Also, the tunisian experience on this field was been presented, namely  the institutional and legal framework, the data release organizational cartography including the missions and roles of the open data focal points, the coordination between the various actors and stakeholders, etc.

moreover, the second training session took place from 12 to 14 June around the  data publication. Druing this sessions, various technical aspects around the data publication chain have been explained like the Open Data Discovery, data transformation to be machine-readable, data anonymization as well as the data schema. Elswhere, a part of this session was devoted to practical exercises that consisted of the manual publication of datasets on the CKAN portal as well as the datastes publication via the API of the CKAN portal.
