As part of the implementation of the open public data program in accordance with the provisions of Government Decree No. 3 of 2021 of January 6, 2021 on open public data, which stipulates in Article 4 the need to implement a strategy to stimulate the development of new cases of use of open data and ensure its sustainability, the e-government unit at the Presidency of the Government, in coordination with three ministries (Social Affairs, Health, Education) and in cooperation with the World Bank is preparing to organize a national competition in the form of “Hackathon”. This competition aims to encourage the reuse of public data published in open format via the national open data portal and thus stimulate the development of innovative reuse cases with high added value for the citizen and users of the administration in general. This competition will be held on 17-18-19 March 2023 in Hammamet.
In this regard, an information day was organized on Friday, March 10, 2023 in Tunis, with the aim of presenting this national competition (general framework, objectives, challenges, organizational aspects and statistics on participants in the competition). The new version of the national portal of open data was also presented during this information day.
Officials and managers from the Ministries of Social Affairs, Health and Education participated in this information day. This is in addition to the presence of a number of participants in this competition, including students and software developers. Members of the jury as well as representatives of the sponsors of this national competition also attended this event.
