As part of the implementation of the 8th commitment of the 4th national action plan of the Open Government Partnership, which aims to draft a strategy for open government in Tunisia in order to develop a global and measurable vision in the short, medium and long term to support the Tunisian government’s reforms in this area, and given the contribution of this strategy to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals “SDGs”, a series of activities have been carried out by the e-Government unit in cooperation with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development “OECD”, during the year 2022 to design a strategy for open government based on a participatory approach, where most of the public structures concerned by this area and a large number of representatives of civil society were involved, including the members of the Tunisian OGP-Steering committee.
In order to present the final version of this strategy, to improve its content before its submission for final approval, and to encourage the different public structures to implement the orientations included in it, an information day was organized on January 24, 2023, in cooperation with “OECD” to present the results of this strategy.
A number of representatives from various ministries and independent public institutions, such as the Access to information authority in Tunisia “INAI”, participated in this information day, as well as a number of representatives of civil society, the academic sector and international partner institutions of the Open Government program in Tunisia.
This event identified a number of proposals that will be included in the final version of the strategy, as well as defining a number of ideas on the methodology, process and mechanisms for its implementation.
