National seminar to launch the “Youth Action Plans” project related to commitment 10 of the 4th OGP National Action Plan

As part of the implementation of commitment (10) of the 4th OGP  National Action Plan  (2021-2023) relating to the Activation of the role of youth  in the designing and monitoring of public projects, at the local level (Implementation of the project on Youth Action Plans-YAP), the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GIZ), in coordination with the E-Government Unit  at the Presidency of  Government, organized the national seminar to launch the project “Youth Action Plans”. This national seminar was held on 06, 07 and 08 May 2022 in Hammamet.

A number of civil society organizations and international partners participated in this seminar, where they presented their experiences and achievements in terms of strengthening youth participation in public affairs. This is in addition to the participation of local work teams in charge of “youth action plans” in the twelve (12) municipalities involved in the project. These work teams are represented by a number of mayors, administrators, municipal councillors and youth representatives from civil society in each municipality.

This seminar focuses on :

– The presentation of the project “youth action plans”, its objectives and approaches,

– The presentation of experiences and achievements in promoting youth participation in local public affairs,

– The organization of workshops on the development of networking and teamwork mechanisms between members of the local work teams in charge of the “youth action plans”,

– The presentation of the work of the local work teams and the presentation of the work agenda for future actions in order to design the youth action plans.

It should be noted that the project “Youth Action Plan-YAP”, object of the commitment 10 of the 4th National Action Plan- PGO is part of the Project “Initiative for Municipal Development-IDM”, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the German International Cooperation Agency -GIZ Tunisia in partnership with the Ministry of Interior (Local Affairs) and the National Federation of Tunisian Communes FNCT, in support of the Unit of Electronic Administration at the Presidency of the Government (UAE) in the implementation of this commitment.
