As part of the implementation of the commitment (10) of the 4th Open Government Partnership (OGP) National Action Plan (2021-2023) on enhancing the role of youth in designing and monitoring public projects at the local level (Implementation of the project on youth action plans), the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), in coordination with the E-Government Unit at the Presidency of the Government,, organized workshops at the headquarters of the 12 municipalities involved in the project.
The local working groups in charge of the implementation of the “Youth Action Plan” participated in these meetings. Some of the meetings were attended by mayors and municipal executives and advisors.

It should be noted that the “Youth Action Plan-YAP” project, which is the subject of commitment 10 of the of the 4th OGP National Action Plan, is part of the “Initiative for Municipal Development” project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation-GIZ, in partnership with the Ministry of the Interior (Local Affairs) and the National Federation of Tunisian Municipalities, in support of the e-Government Unit at the Presidency of Government in the implementation of this commitment.
The agenda of these workshops focused on :
– Contact with the local working groups,
– The presentation of the project “Youth Action Plan -YAP”: objectives, approaches, methodology,
– The presentation of the study made by the GIZ on the causes of the low participation of young people in local public life,
– The accompaniment of the local working groups to organize their team work, in particular through the presentation of the charter of ethics and deontology.
– Discussions and debates on the next steps for the implementation of the project and the required work of the local working group.
These workshops took place during the period from March 21 to 30, 2022 and were facilitated by experts from the consulting firm “Streamline Consulting”.
