Closing event of the 2nd phase of the “OpenGovDataHack2020” national hackathon on the open government data reuse

As part of the promotion of the results of the national Hackathon “OpenGovDataHack2020” on the open government data reuse, organized at the end of January 2020 in cooperation with the World Bank and for the benefit of certain public structures, in particular the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Cultural affairs  and the National Fund for Health Insurance, the eGovernment Unit at the Presidency of the Government organized in cooperation with the World Bank two information days on the closing activities of this national hackathon, in order to present the several projects that have been selected to benefit from technical support with the intention of developing them into projects for the benefit of the structures involved, and to establish start-ups.

Indeed, the closing events of the 2nd phase of the national hackathon “OpenGovDataHack2020” were held on February 25 and 26, 2022. The 1st information day allowed to present the projects aimed at developing internal reuse cases for the benefit of public structures involved in order to find solutions based on open data for a number of problems raised in these structures. While the second day focused on the presentation of projects within the framework of the development of external reuse cases of open public data in order to create start-ups based on the exploitation of this data.

It should be noted that the accompaniment phase for these projects extended over more than a year and a half, and is concretized through technical support and incubation offered to certain project ideas from the national hackathon “OpenGovDataHack2020 » by providing all the required mechanisms to establish a climate and favorable conditions to develop them into projects for the benefit of the public structures, and start-ups.

This hackathon is considered as the first pilot experience designed and conducted by the administration to promote the open government data reuse, which would stimulate its generalization at the national, regional or international level.
