Within the framework of the implementation of commitment 11 of the 4th OGP action plan (2021-2021) relating to“Entrenching the OGP principles at the local level”, and in cooperation with the “PAGOF” Program, the e-Government Unit organized a training session on open data, and specifically geographic data.
This training session has been organized during the period from September 27 to September 29, 2021 for the benefit of the municipalities involved in the implementation of commitment 11 included in the 4th PAN-PGO. It aimed to develop the capacities of public officials specializing in IT and technical fields at the level of these municipalities around the concepts and mechanisms linked to the production, processing and dissemination of geographic data; which makes it possible to promote the reuse and exploitation of this data by the administration and citizens.
This training covered various technical aspects related to the production, collection and processing of the geographic data, while devoting part of this session to the practical exercises on these aspects using a number of dedicated software and applications to geographic data.
The third day of this session has been devoted to the strategic aspects related to the opening of public geographic data by studying and discussing the various issues and prospects to establish an appropriate ecosystem and to strengthen this openesss-up process and further devote it to municipal action by the adoption of clear strategic orientations and objectives and the development of an action plan to implement them.
