During days of 11 & 12 March 2018, an OGP forum was held as a part of the celebration of the OpenGov Week at the National School of Administration.The forum brought together nearly 100 participants from several ministries, public institutions, representatives of civil society as well as many international donors in the field of open government.
During the first day of this seminar, Tunisia’s OGP experience was presented through a presentation on the program and the various action plans which were carried out within it, as well as various initiatives launched by several associations to support the implementation of some commitments have been presented.
On the second day, presentations were made on the progress in the implementation of the open data national action plan. In this regard,
an expanded public consultation on the project of the open data decree was launched, which will last three weeks from March 07 to March 27, 2019. The results of the first version of the Assessment Report of Open Data Portals were released. A detailed presentation of the most important initiatives undertaken by the civil society in the area of open data, specifically the initiatives carried out under the “Onshor” program, was presented mainly in the development of open data initiatives for transport and agriculture sectors as well as municipalities.
At the end of this seminar, under the supervision of the Minister of Civil Service, Administrative Modernization and Public Policies,
A number of recommendations have been drawn through the various presentations and discussions that were carried out during these two days as follows :
1/ Concerning the first day dedicated for the Open Government Partnership:
- Ensuring the sustainability and continuity of the reforms undertaken over the past five years under the OGP Program,
- Expanding the scope of public institution s involved in this program,
- Developing mechanisms to support this program through the provision of financial and human resources at the national, sectoral and local levels,
- Continue to promote and sensitize about the Open Government Partnership Program.
2/ Concerning the first day dedicated for the Open Government Partnership:
- Accelerate the drafting process of the open data decree
- Continue the public data inventory project with an other se of public structures,
- Work on the implementation of the recommendations included in the Assessment Report of Open Data Portals
after then, the The Minister of Public Service and the Administrative Modernization and Public Policies gave a speech to urge various officials and actors involved in this process to continue their efforts, praising the contribution of the OGP Programme to promote the principles of transparency, accountability and citizen participation, as well as He confirmed the commitment to implement the third OGP Action Plan.
Finally, the Minister handed over excellence certificates in the field of open data to the leading public institutions in this area.
