The Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Ms. Sonia Ben Cheikh, accompanied by the Minister of Civil Service and Modernization of the Administration and Public Policies Mr. Kamel Morjane and the Director of the World Bank’s Office in Tunis, Tony Verheijen, inaugurated the launch of the forum on pilot local Councils for Youth on March 01, 2019. In this context, the five pilot local councils for youth in Kasserine, Ben Guerden, The Kef, Testour and Ibn Khaldun have been honored, as well as several stakeholders among managers of youth houses and civil society representatives.
It should be noted that the establishment of local councils for youth is one of the commitments included in the 3rd OGP action plan national (Commitment No. 10), which aiming to enable young people to express their opinions, concerns, and ideas freely and transparently as well as to influence decision-makers to carry out reforms intended to solve these problems.
