National Action Plans

Several reforms and initiatives undertaken in the transparency and governance field in general enabled Tunisia’s membership to this initiative on January 14, 2014. Reforms include the development of the legal framework, such as the adoption of Decree 41 dated May 25, 2011 on the right of access to administrative documents, also practical and technical improvements like new systems and web sites designed in order to reinforce transparency and citizen participation on public policies elaboration and follow up and also contribution on efforts aimed to fight corruption and nepotism. These new online systems include the public online consultations website, the open data portal, the platform to denunciate cases of corruption and the public procurements website.
Since 2014, two action plans have been developed according to a participatory process has been concretized particularly through the organization of national consultations in order to design the both action plans and identify priority reforms according to the participants’ proposals. Also a steering committee is set up that gathers an equal number of governmental and civil society representatives and it supervises the various phases of the action plans, including preparation, monitoring implementation, promotion and providing support to complete the design within set deadlines.
